Mechanical Engineer

RETROTECH, Inc. is a nationally recognized leader in Automated Warehouse Modernization. The job of Mechanical Engineer includes completing engineering assignments and providing technical assistance as Retrotech installs material handling systems at customer sites throughout North America.

Requirements: 

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, concepts, practices, and theories
  • Strong team player with ability to interact with other disciplines
  • Computer literate with AutoCad, Inventor, Excel, Word, and MS Project
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as needed
  • Ability to move around work sites and climb ladders
Responsibilities: 

Under the direction of the Mechanical Engineering Supervisor, the Mechanical Engineer performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives while on multi-discipline project teams.  The Mechanical Engineer will provide technical assistance to sales, applications engineers, project managers, and customer service personnel.  The Mechanical Engineer will make recommendations about design(s) of equipment for improved performance and cost reduction.

Essential Duties:

  • Utilizes mechanical engineering principles to design and develop company products and systems
  • Assists with design specifications, interface improvements, and the coordination of all disciplines to affect an overall working system
  • Consults with customers to analyze business needs and plans user requirements
  • Provides technical direction to team members in design, development, and testing of mechanical components, equipment and systems.  Assists other departments and team members in resolving problems
  • Review product and system design for compliance with engineering principles, customer requirements, company, and national standards
  • May coordinate installation at customer sites and provide training.  Troubleshoots equipment and installation problems
