Material
Storage Systems, Upgrades, Retrofits
Retrotech's strength and core competency is applying ASRS to material storage systems.
Retrotech's ability to engineer new material storage solutions, and to modernize
existing material storage systems, sets it above many in the automated material
handling storage industry.
Material Storage History Originally
a method used in military and aerospace planning, the systems
point of view has been applied
to industrial material storage handling. Scanners and other
control devices now provide "real time" data on the status
of equipment and materials in an operation or facility.
This
information can be used for making sound operating decisions.
The integration of materials handling
activities with controls and computers has enabled organizations
to achieve higher levels of productivity.
A material storage handling system can
include an entire plant and the facilities of suppliers and
customers. A material storage system can begin at the receiving
dock, continuing through inspection, storage, processing,
packaging and shipping. It can also include packaging and
shipping operations at the supplier's plant,
and unloading and handling at the customer's site. Within the material storage
handling system, smaller material storage systems or subsystems operate in
various areas of the facility.
Preferably the material storage
system should be integrated, to optimize materials handling efficiency
throughout the facility. A materials
handling system should
contain two parallel flows, the physical flow of materials and a corresponding
flow of information.
Retrotech has a long and successful history
of provding material storage system solutions to a wide
variety of customers. Let the team at Retrotech design
or provide the right upgrade / retrofit solution for your
company's storage needs.
